4.2.10. Removal of assembly of pistons with rods

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a head of cylinders, the pallet of a case and an intaking tube of the oil pump / the filter (see the Part Repair of the engine without its extraction from the car of this Chapter).
2. If in the top part any of cylinders there is a pronounced worn-out edge - a step, then it can be removed by means of a vertical drill that needs to be made in order to avoid damage of the piston at removal. Such step indicates excessive wear of a mirror of the cylinder.
3. By means of the hammer and a center punch, paint or a marker apply tags corresponding to number of the cylinder on the processed flat surfaces of covers of bearings of the lower heads of a rod; if the engine was exposed before to dismantling, make sure that such identification tags were put before. Remember that the N1 cylinder - the next to a distributive chain on the engine.
4. Turn the crankshaft so that the N1 piston and the N4 piston appeared in the lower dead point (LDP).

5. Give nuts of a cover of the bearing of the lower head of a rod of the N1 piston. Uncover.

6. Take the lower insert of the bearing. In case inserts are repeatedly established, fasten a cover to an insert together with the help of an adhesive tape.

7. In order to avoid possible injuries of necks of bearings of the crankshaft wind with also adhesive tape of a carving of hairpins of rods.
8. Push with the handle of the hammer the piston up the cylinder and take it at the top the block of cylinders. Remove an insert of the bearing and attach it to a rod an adhesive tape.
9. Again put on a cover of the bearing of the lower head of a rod a rod and fix it by nuts - it will allow to keep components in the necessary order.
10. Similarly remove assembly of the 4th piston.
11. Turn the crankshaft on 180P for installation in the lower dead point of pistons 2 and 3, do with them the procedures described above.
