4.1.11. Removal, survey and installation to the place of the oil pump

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Cock the emergency brake and a poddomkratta the car in front and behind and establish it on axial props (address Poddomkrachivaniye's Section, towage and change of wheels). Remove the right forward wheel.
2. Give screws and remove a molding of a forward wing, and then a loker of an arch of a forward wheel.
3. There where is available, (B202 engines with a separate driving compressor belt of the air conditioning system) remove a driving compressor belt of the air conditioning system (see the Head Routine maintenance).
4. Take off an auxiliary driving belt (see the Head Routine maintenance).
5. Give and remove the central bolt of a pulley of the crankshaft. At the same time the crankshaft is kept in steady state by the following method: On models with the manual transmission the assistant squeezes out a brake pedal, having installed the transmission in the provision of the 4th transfer. Or enter the screw-driver with a wide sting into a distributive opening (early models) of the top part of transmission and insert it between teeth of a gear wreath of a starter. On models with automatic transmission only the last method is applied. Where the distributive opening is muffled, remove a starter (see the Head Sistemy of start and a charge) for ensuring access to a gear wreath of a starter.
6. Remove a pulley and a nave from a crankshaft pin. In case they hardly sit on the crankshaft, is careful to their podrychazhta from two parties.
7. On B202 engines in a progressive order give bolts of fastening of the oil pump to the block of cylinders and remove it from a crankshaft pin. Take from a flute in a back part of a casing of the oil pump a sealing ring.
8. On B204/B234 engines take a big ring clip
9. Then take out a cover of the oil pump from a cover of a distributive chain. Keep in mind that the ring clip is very hard and its removal requires couple of special flat-nose pliers.
10. Also pay attention to existence of landing tags in the form of arrows on a cover of the pump and a cover of a distributive chain.
11. Take a sealing ring from a flute of a cover of the oil pump.
12. Pay attention how the crankshaft epiploon in a cover of the oil pump is established, then take an epiploon by means of the screw-driver.

Survey

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Purely wipe internal surfaces of rotors of the oil pump and apply with a marker on them adjusting tags. It is very important that rotors were established into place in the former provisions. Pay attention that on engines with balancing shaft on an external rotor there is an identification tag which is beaten out on an external surface.
2. Take rotors from a cover of a distributive belt (the case of the oil pump), still without forgetting about need of installation them into place in the former provisions.
3. Unscrew a stopper and remove a plunger and a spring of the reducing valve, having remembered how they were established. Remove a stopper washer.
4. Clear all components and examine them regarding detection of wear and damages. Examine rotors of the pump and the case regarding detection of wear of edges and damages to a type of scratches. By means of the lezviyny shchupovy measuring instrument measure a gap between an external rotor and a cover of a distributive chain, compare the received value to the values given in Specifications. At detection of considerable wear assembly of the oil pump has to be replaced in a set.
5. Examine a plunger of the reducing valve regarding detection of wear and damages, if necessary replace. The condition of a spring of the valve can be estimated only by its comparison with new; at emergence of any doubts in the relation of its state - replace a spring.
6. At detection in the oil pump of traces of pollution or a deposit it is necessary to remove the pallet of a case and to clean an intaking tube / filter (see the Section Removal, survey and installation to the place of the oil pump).
7. Insert a plunger and a spring of the valve, then establish into place a stopper with a new washer and tighten it.
8. Oil rotors fresh motive and insert them into the case of the oil pump in the former provisions. The external rotor has to be established so that the identification tag was turned outside.

Installation into place

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Absolutely wipe an epiploon saddle in a casing of the oil pump, then insert a new epiploon into a casing, having made sure that it entered on the place perpendicularly and is established in the former situation.
2. On B204/B234 engines establish a new sealing ring, then insert the oil pump into a cover of a distributive chain, having made sure that identification shooters are turned to each other. Establish a big ring clip in a flute so that its party with chamfered was turned outside, and the open ends looked down.
3. On B202 engines establish a new sealing ring in a flute on the oil pump, then clear the contact surfaces of the oil pump and block of cylinders. Put on the oil pump a pin of the crankshaft and the directing plugs. Insert bolts and tighten them in the progressing order with the required effort. Pay attention that 2 of bolts are through and enter the case of the block of cylinders, these bolts have to drag on with the same effort with what bolts of a distributive belt drag on.
4. Put on a pulley of the crankshaft and the plug the end of the crankshaft. Insert the central bolt and tighten it with the required effort, holding the crankshaft from rotation by means of one of the methods described in §5.
5. Establish an auxiliary driving belt (see the Head Routine maintenance).
6. Where is available, establish a driving compressor belt of the air conditioning system (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating).
7. Establish a loker and a molding of a wing and tighten screws.
8. Establish into place the right forward wheel and lower the car on the earth.
9. Before starting the engine, disconnect the plait of wires of ignition going to the distributor or to the ignition block in system with direct ignition for shutdown of system of ignition. Then turn the engine a starter for installation of oil pressure until the alarm lamp of oil pressure goes out. Connect a plait of wires and start the engine for survey it regarding detection of leaks.
