Checks of levels of liquid (each 400 km or weekly)

Motive oil

Level of motive oil is defined by the oil probe, inserted into a mouth of the gulf of oil in a back part of the block of cylinders and the case of the lower part of the engine entered into the pallet. For removal of a cover shift it and rotate counterclockwise. The oil probe is attached to a cover of a mouth of the gulf of oil.

Level of oil has to be checked on the car installed on the flat platform and with the warm engine — 2 - 5 minutes later, after switching off of the engine.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Give a cover of a mouth of the gulf of oil and take the probe from a tube. Completely remove oil traces since the end of the probe by means of dry rags or a paper towel. Again put the wiped probe at the full length of a tube and take it again.
2. Note oil level on the end of the probe.
3. If necessary add oil so that its level coincided with the top tag ("MAX")). Keep in mind that the oil level raising from the lower mark in the probe ("MIN") to the top mark requires 1 liter of motive oil.

Always support oil level between two tags on the oil probe. If to allow the level of oil to fall below the mark "MIN" in the oil probe, the lack of oil capable to lead to serious damages of the engine will be result. The oil modulation above can give the marks "MAX" to emergence of leak of oil or to damage of epiploons.

Dolivany oils are produced through a mouth of the gulf of oil in a back part of the engine behind the inlet pipeline. Before making a dolivaniye of motive oil, uncover a mouth of the gulf of oil, combined with the oil probe. Always apply only the required oil grades given in the section "Types and Volumes of the Applied Lubricants and Liquids".

Cooler

Do not try to remove a tight cover of a broad tank on the hot engine at all, it can lead to burns.


All cars described in this manual have the tight cooling system which is under pressure. The broad tank is a part of the cooling system and is located in the right part of a motive compartment. At increase in temperature of the engine there is an expansion of a cooler and level in a broad tank increases. When cooling the engine the level of a cooler falls. Circulation of a cooler through a broad tank happens during all operating time of the engine, at the same time continuously there is a release of the store from collected in it air.

Cooler level in a broad tank has to be checked regularly. Level of a cooler depends on engine temperature. At the cold engine, the level of a cooler has to be slightly below a mark at most in a tank wall. At the hot engine the level of liquid has to rise slightly above a mark at most.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If it is required to make a cooler dolivaniye, wait so far the engine will cool down, then unscrew a tight cover of a broad tank on 1 or 2 turns. Wait so far pressure will be pitted, then completely unscrew and uncover.

2. Through a mouth of the gulf of a cooler add mix of water and antifreeze (see the Section Replacement of a Cooler) to the mark "MAX" in a tank wall. Establish into place a cover of a mouth of the gulf of a cooler and densely tighten it clockwise.

In tight cooling systems addition of a cooler is required to be made through rather big intervals of time. In need of a frequent dolivaniye of a cooler it is necessary to examine system regarding detection of leaks. Examine a radiator, all hoses and the surfaces of unions regarding detection of damp spots or smudges, if necessary make repair. In case leaks are not found, it is necessary to make check of a tight cover and all system pressure, in the workshop of car service having the special equipment which often helps to find the small leaks which are difficult found at visual survey.

Brake fluid / liquid of coupling

The tank for brake fluid / liquid of coupling is installed in the left part of a motive compartment behind the battery. On a wall of the tank there are marks a maximum and a minimum, the level of liquid has to be constantly near or a little lower than a mark at most. In the course of wear of brake shoes the level of liquid will fall slightly, however it is never necessary to allow it to go down below a mark at least.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. If it is required to add liquid, then before uncovering, at first wipe areas around a jellied mouth of liquid with pure rags.
2. If it is necessary, disconnect wires of the alarm switch of low level of liquid.

3. Unscrew a cover.

4. Add brake fluid / liquid of coupling in the tank.

5. At a liquid dolivaniye previously examine the tank on impurity. At detection on walls of the tank of deposits, foreign particles, pollution the system has to be merged and again filled with pure liquid.
6. After the gulf of liquid in the tank to necessary level make sure that the cover is closed densely in order to avoid leaks and hit in system of foreign particles. If made their detachments, again connect wires of the alarm switch of low level of liquid.


Add liquid in the tank extremely carefully so that to avoid a spill it on the surrounding painted surfaces. Always previously make sure that you add liquid of the required grade as mixing of various types can lead to serious damages of system. Address the Section Types and volumes of the applied lubricants and liquids.

Brake hydraulic fluid is capable to injure seriously your eyes and the painted surfaces of the car therefore during the work with brake fluid and at its dolivaniye be extremely careful. Never use the liquid standing long time in an open container as it is hygroscopic. Excessive brake fluid moisture content leads to dangerous decrease in overall performance of brakes.


After the gulf of liquid in the tank to necessary level make sure that the cover is closed densely in order to avoid leaks and hit in system of foreign particles. If made their detachments, again connect wires of the alarm switch of low level of liquid.

Liquid level in the tank will fall slightly in process of wear of brake shoes in the course of their use. If it is necessary to make a frequent dolivaniye for maintenance of the required level of liquid, it indicates existence of hydraulic leaks somewhere in system which have to be immediately found.

Windscreen washer liquid

The mouth of the gulf of liquid in the tank of windscreen washer of a windshield and glass of a back door is in a forward left corner (early models) or in a forward right corner (late models) of a motive compartment, behind the headlight block.

At addition of the tank it is necessary to use Turtle Wax High Tech Screen Wash liquid, following instructions on a bottle label.
