16.4. Repair of insignificant damages of a body

Zadelyvaniye of insignificant scratches of elements of a body

In case of very superficial scratches which are not getting to metal of elements of a body, the repair procedure is very simple. Slightly wipe the region of scratch with a reducer of the painted surfaces, such as Turtle Wax Color Back, or very thin abrasive paste, such as Holts Body + Plus Rubbing Compaund. Correction of dents in body elements

At education on a surface of a body of the car of deep dents, first of all it is necessary to try to push out the pressed surface outside so that it almost took the original form.  PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove from the damaged area, and also from the space surrounding it, all paint about 3 cm wide, having used for this purpose a wire or abrasive nozzle to an electric drill. Before starting implementation of the instructions provided in this subsection all procedures for preparation for a shpaklevaniye of dents, deep scratches and the openings formed as a result of corrosion and holes of the car described above have to be performed.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. 2. Apply with the applicator spackling paste on previously prepared area; you drive the applicator across the surface of hard putty for giving of the correct form and level to it. 3. After hard putty hardening its surplus can be removed by means of a metal plane or a file.
4. Further, the puttied surface has to be processed by a waterproof emery paper, in the progressing order, beginning from N 40 and, passing to thinner, to N 400. Paper has to be always wrapped up around a flat piece of thick rubber, either a stopper, or wooden whetstone - otherwise it is impossible to achieve absolutely flat surface of hard putty. In processing paper has to be moistened with water periodically. At the same time, the processed surface of hard putty will be very smoothly polished.
5. At the end of this stage of processing "dent" has to be the surrounded with a ring of pure metal which, in turn, has to be surrounded on edge, coming to naught gradually, intact paint. Carefully wash away all dust formed in processing from the repaired area clear water.
6. From a spray cover all processed surface with a thin layer of primer, such as Holts Body + Plus Grey or Red Oxide Primer - at the same time all shortcomings of processing of the puttied surface have to disappear. Cover all dents which are available on the puttied surface fresh spackling paste or bodystopper and again smooth down a surface an emery paper. When using bodystopper it can be mixed with a cellulose thinner, for formation of really thin paste which is ideal for filling of insignificant openings. Continue the procedure of drawing a layer of primer and repeated processing of a surface until the surface does not seem to you processed well.
7. Wash out the processed surface clear water and dry it.
8. Now the processed surface is ready to a final covering paint. Putting paint from a spray has to be made in the warm, dry, windless and not dusty room. In case of impossibility to use the enclosed space, in need of holding a procedure of coloring in the open air, it is necessary to choose day of work very carefully. During the work indoors, for removal from dust air, moisten half of the working platform with water.
9. If coloring of the separate panel of a body of the car is made, cover surrounding panels - it will help to minimize effect of insignificant distinction of tones of paint. Elements of finishing of a body (such as the chromeplated strips, door handles, etc.) also have to be covered. For cover unliable to coloring of elements of a body, use several layers of the newspapers attached to a body by an adhesive tape.

10.
