15.6. Removal and installation to the place of assembly of a forward nave

The nave is hermetically closed, continuously greased block calculated for work without service during all service life of the car. Bearings are unregulated and in case of detection of their wear the nave has to be replaced assembled. It is not allowed to tighten for the purpose of adjustment of bearings nuts of a nave and a power shaft with the effort exceeding admissible Specifications of value.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a rotary fist of the steering mechanism (address the Section Removal and installation to the place of a rotary fist of the steering mechanism).
2. Put assembly flatwise on a working surface, then by means of a chertilka or a marker put tags of mutually provision of a nave and a rotary fist. Pay attention that on early models the nave flange for simplification of centering in the top surface has a cut.
3. Remove four bolts which fix a nave to a rotary fist of the steering mechanism.
4. Remove a rotary fist and a back board of a brake disk.

Installation into place

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Collect a nave and a back board of a brake disk with a rotary fist, working as it should be, the return to an order of the procedure of dismantling. Observe the recommended efforts of tightening of threaded connections. For the correct centering of a nave use the tags made in the course of dismantling.
2. Establish into place a rotary fist (address the Section Removal and installation to the place of a rotary fist of the steering mechanism).
