13.4. Removal and installation to the place of assembly of an intermediate power shaft and the basic bearing

Removal

Models till 1994 of the issue.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire of the battery and remove it from the plug aside.
2. Park the car on the flat platform, cock the emergency brake and prop up back wheels. Give bolts of fastening of the right wheel, then a front of the car and establish to a poddomkratta it on axial support (address Poddomkrachivaniye's Section, towage and change of wheels), remove a wheel.
3. Working according to instructions of the Head Power shafts and the corresponding paragraph of the Section Removal, survey and installation to the place of power shafts, you otboltit the lower support of a rack, then turn away a rotary fist from the car for a detachment of the right power shaft from an intermediate power shaft on the internal universal hinge. The external end of the right power shaft should not be removed from a wheel nave; for support of the internal end of a shaft use a rope piece - it will help to remove a shaft from working area, and also to avoid loadings of the hinge of equal angular speeds. In order to avoid hit of dirt close the divided halves of the universal hinge plastic packages.
4. Weaken an auxiliary driving belt (The head Routine maintenance).
5. Remove the lower fixing bolt of the generator, then weaken the top fixing bolt and unscrew the generator from the engine. Again tighten the top fixing bolt for deduction of the generator in this situation.
6. Remove a clip from a dustproof cover on an intermediate power shaft on a differential casing.
7. Remove four bolts and separate a basic bracket from the engine block.
8. By means of a suitable nozzle connect the hammer with sliding brisk (a bolt with the sliding freight) to a basic bracket in a fixing opening of the generator and beat out assembly of the bearing / a power shaft with shlits of the conducted transmission shaft. It is alternatively possible to use a soft kiyanka - for removal of a power shaft you knock by a back part of a basic bracket. Avoid use of excessive effort for the purpose of prevention of damage of the bearing.
9. Supporting a power shaft in order to avoid falling it on a floor, remove a sealing ring from the end of the conducted transmission shaft and you will throw out it, having remembered its situation; at installation the new ring has to be used.

For office of a basic bracket of the intermediate bearing the winch for raising of the engine can be used. However at the same time, if the winch is installed on a floor, watch that the engine rose a little forward on the car.

In order to avoid damage when raising the engine it is recommended to perform the following procedures previously:

   a) disconnect from a collector a reception exhaust pipe (The head Toplivnaya and exhaust systems)
   b) take out from a clip on a cover of a head of cylinders a hose of system of ventilation of a case.
   c) remove a bracket of a jet bar of the engine (address the Head Remont of the engine).


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Disconnect a negative wire of the battery and shift it from the plug aside.
2. Park the car on the flat platform, cock the emergency brake and prop up back wheels. Weaken bolts of fastening of the right forward wheel, then a poddomkratta a car front, having established it on axial support (address Poddomkrachivaniye's Section, towage and change of wheels) and remove a wheel.
3. Remove forward section of a loker of an internal arch of a wheel (The head Body works).
4. Working on the right side of the car (and working according to the instructions provided in the Head Podvesk and steering and the corresponding paragraphs of the Section Removal, survey and installation to the place of power shafts) you otboltit the lower support of a rack, then turn away a rotary fist of the steering mechanism from the car for separation of the right power shaft from an intermediate power shaft on the internal universal hinge aside.
5. The external end of the right power shaft should not be taken out from a wheel nave; for removal of a power shaft from a working zone, and also for avoidance of excessive loads of the hinge of equal angular speeds, tie up the internal end of a power shaft a rope.
6. Close the divided halves of the universal hinge plastic packages, having fixed them by rubber ribbons, in order to avoid hit in the dirt hinge.
7. Remove the only bolt of fastening of a basic bracket of the bearing of an intermediate shaft to a support on a stretcher.
8. Disconnect the tire of grounding of the engine from a head of cylinders. On the opposite end of a head of cylinders you otboltit a lifting earring. Transfer an earring to an adjusting opening of the tire of grounding and its priboltita in this point.
9. Establish a lifting beam across a motive compartment, having fixed beam support on internal thresholds of wings.
10. Insert a hook into a lifting earring of the engine and lift the engine with the transmission so that the separation of a basic bracket of the intermediate bearing from a support on a stretcher became possible.
11. Remove the screw of fastening of a clip for keeping of a tube of hydraulic liquid of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel to a basic bracket of the bearing.
12. Remove two lower bolts of fastening of a basic bracket to the engine block. Pay attention that these bolts also fix a basic bracket of the socket of the oxygen sensor.
13. Remove the top fixing bolt and shift a basic bracket from its guides of fingers from the engine aside. If the bracket stuck to the directing fingers, carefully hook it.
14. After release of a bracket, take out an intermediate power shaft, having removed it from shlits of the conducted transmission shaft. If the shaft stuck, knock behind on the bearing case with a soft kiyanka - do not apply excessive effort as it can lead to damage of the bearing.
15. The power shaft is placed in a pipe from aluminum alloy which on the ends has rubber consolidations; the pipe can be removed by a pokruchivaniye and its removal from the bearing case.
16. Remember the provision of a sealing ring (it is specified by an arrow) on the conducted transmission shaft; remove a ring and throw out it. At installation it is necessary to use new.
17. Lower and remove assembly of a power shaft and the basic bearing from the car.

Survey

All models

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. By means of kerosene or other suitable solvent clear a cup of the universal hinge of traces of old lubricant.
2. Examine flutes of rollers in a cup regarding detection of wear in the form of scratches or protertost. At detection of signs of wear the cup has to be replaced.
3. Examine assembly of the intermediate bearing regarding wear detection - existence of an excessive axial or radial side play, and also hard rotation of the bearing indicates its replacements the need. The block can be disassembled on the main components which then are subject to individual replacement. However, this procedure demands use of the hydraulic press established on a workbench and therefore lies out of this manual competence. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the intermediate bearing in a set.

Installation into place

Models till 1994 of the issue.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that the cup of the universal hinge is absolutely pure, then fill it lubricant.
2. On a casing of differential establish on the conducted transmission shaft a sealing ring to the same place where it was established at removal. Make sure that the boot correctly sits in the place.
3. Before installation to the place of a basic bracket of the intermediate bearing insert an internal lower fixing bolt into the opening as access to it after installation of a bracket on the block of the engine will be complicated.
4. Make sure that the adjusting directing plugs of a bracket are not damaged and are correctly combined with a bracket.
5. Grease vents of the conducted transmission shaft molybdenum - the containing lubricant. Combine an intermediate power shaft with the end of the conducted shaft by rotation of both shaft to the opposite sides until their vents are combined. Tapping on a basic bracket of the bearing with a soft kiyanka, insert an intermediate shaft, having put on it the conducted shaft.
6. Combine a bearing bracket with fixing openings on the engine block. Insert fixing bolts and tighten them at this stage by hand.
7. Weaken the top fixing bolt and turn the generator back to the engine. Establish the lower fixing bolt of the generator through a basic bracket of the bearing.
8. Tighten bolts of a basic bracket of the bearing with the required effort, then tighten both fixing bolts of the generator.
9. Establish on a dustproof cover of a power shaft on a differential casing a new collar.
10. Connect the right power shaft to an intermediate power shaft and establish into place fixing bolts of a rack of a suspension bracket (address the Section Removal, survey and installation to the place of power shafts and to the Head Podvesk and steering).
11. Check and if necessary adjust a tension of an auxiliary driving belt (The head Routine maintenance).
12. Connect a negative wire of the battery.

Models after 1994 of the issue.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that the cup of the universal hinge is absolutely pure, then fill it fresh lubricant.
2. Put on an aluminum sleeve a power shaft and strongly insert it into a basic bracket of the intermediate bearing.
3. On a casing of differential establish on the former place on the conducted shaft a new sealing ring.
4. Apply assembly of a shaft and the basic bearing to the engine block. Put on an intermediate shaft vents of the conducted transmission shaft, having rotated for combination of shlits both shaft in different directions. Push a shaft as much as possible by hand, then begin to knock it on a bearing bracket a soft kiyanka. It will also help to combine a bearing bracket with the directing fingers and fixing openings.
5. Establish the top fixing bolt of a basic bracket of the bearing.
6. Establish two lower fixing bolts of a basic bracket of the bearing, watching that the bracket of electric connection of the oxygen sensor was established correctly. Install the screw of fastening of a clip of a hose of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel.
7. Connect the right power shaft to the universal hinge of an intermediate shaft (address the Section Removal, survey and installation to the place of power shafts). Make sure that the rubber casing is put exactly on the hinge. Then establish a new collar on a casing. Establish into place bolts of the lower support of a rack of a suspension bracket (address the Head Podvesk and steering). On the cars equipped with the ABS system you remember that the bracket of a cable of the sensor of a wheel fastens a bolt of the lower support of a rack of a suspension bracket.
8. Insert a bolt of fastening of a basic bracket of the bearing to a support on a stretcher and tighten it with the required effort.
9. Establish into place an internal loker of a wing and tighten fixing screws (address the Head Body works).
10. Establish into place a wheel, having tightened by hand bolts of its fastening. Lower the car on the earth and tighten fastening bolts with the required effort.
11. Lower a hook of a lifting beam, then you otboltit a lifting earring of the engine and rearrange it on the old place on the opposite side of a head of cylinders. Install into place the tire of grounding of the engine.
12. Establish into place a bracket of a jet bar of the engine (address the Head Remont of the engine).
13. Establish in a clip on a cover of a head of cylinders a hose of system of ventilation of a case.
14. Connect into place a reception exhaust pipe (The head Toplivnaya and exhaust systems).
15. Connect a negative wire of the battery.
